Overview
FBD Hotels & Resorts is a leading Irish hotel and property group which has owned and operated 4* superior hotels and resorts in Ireland and Spain for over 30 years. In Ireland, the Group has recently been in acquisition mode and its Irish portfolio consists of 1,078 rooms across the following stunning properties – Killashee Hotel, Faithlegg Hotel, Castleknock Hotel, and The Heritage.
Challenge
To support its ambitious growth strategy, FBD Hotels & Resorts needed to consolidate and streamline the IT infrastructure that was in place right across its locations. The expanding group was dealing with multiple IT suppliers and vendors, which was leading to unpredictable costs and slow resolution times in the event of an issue or incident.
Solution
Following an extensive consultation to identify a best-fit solution for the Group’s needs, HCS rolled out a robust and scalable IT managed service based on Microsoft technology across their four Irish hotels.
HCS carried out hardware upgrades, enhanced the Group’s cybersecurity posture with strengthened firewalls, and boosted compliance for the organisation in line with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). The rollout also included secure VPNs for increased remote access.

HCS’ solution is enabling better business performance for FBD Hotels & Resorts and is also increasing productivity for 400 users across the Irish Group. With one IT supplier underpinning all operations, system downtime has significantly decreased, meaning employees can divert their focus to their core tasks and on providing an enhanced service to guests.
Sensitive guest payment information is protected with increased PCI compliance, and other upgraded systems are further improving the guest experience.
In turn, the streamlined service has reduced costs for FBD, as it has eliminated the reliance on multiple vendors. Highly secure VPNs are enabling flexible working for employees, and the entire service is designed with security built-in.
