Camida is a leading global distributor of specialised chemicals, operating in highly regulated environments where precision, traceability, and compliance are essential.

As the company expanded and diversified across markets, it embarked on a digital transformation initiative to modernise how information is captured, shared, and analysed throughout the organisation.

The objective was to replace fragmented, manual processes and adopt secure, scalable digital solutions that enable improved decision-making and support long-term growth.

The problem

Camida’s teams relied on a mix of disconnected systems and manual processes to manage operational data, customer interactions, and regulatory information. Core workflows such as enquiry management, sample tracking, QMS logging, and internal task coordination lacked standardisation and cross-department visibility. This limited access to real-time insights, delayed reporting, and increased the administrative load on staff working in compliance-driven industries.

To address these challenges, Camida required a modern digital platform capable of introducing structure, automation, and transparency, while maintaining the stringent security and control standards essential to the business.

The solution

HCS partnered with Camida to design and deliver a phased digital transformation built on Microsoft SharePoint and the Power Platform. Secure SharePoint environments were implemented as the foundation for structured data storage, replacing manual and ad‑hoc approaches to information management.

From there, a suite of Power Platform solutions was developed to digitise and automate core business processes. These included enquiry management, sample and quality logs, internal task and diary management and reporting dashboards powered by Power BI. By consolidating these workflows into a single, integrated platform, Camida gained a unified view of its operations and a flexible foundation for ongoing innovation.
