FBD Hotels & Resorts is a leading Irish hotel group with more than 30 years’ experience operating high-quality 4-star hotels and resorts across Ireland and Spain. Renowned for warm hospitality and consistently high guest experiences, the Group’s portfolio spans city, country, coastal, golf, leisure, and resort destinations.
In Ireland, FBD Hotels & Resorts operates five distinctive properties Castleknock Hotel, The Heritage, Faithlegg, Killashee Hotel, and The Grand Hotel, Malahide, offering a combined 1,078 guest rooms. The Group also owns and operates two flagship resort destinations on the Costa del Sol in Spain: La Cala Resort and Sunset Beach Club. Together, these properties support a large, always-on hospitality operation where resilient, secure IT is essential to guest satisfaction and business performance.
The problem
As the Group expanded, FBD Hotels & Resorts was managing multiple IT suppliers across different locations. This fragmented approach resulted in unpredictable costs, inconsistent service levels, and slow resolution times when issues occurred.
The lack of a consolidated IT infrastructure also increased complexity around security, compliance, and scalability, posing risks to both operations and guest experience.
The solution
Following an extensive consultation process, HCS designed and deployed a robust, scalable managed IT service built on Microsoft technologies across FBD’s four Irish hotels. The solution included hardware upgrades, strengthened cybersecurity controls, secure VPNs for safe remote access, and enhanced compliance aligned with PCI DSS requirements.
HCS now provides proactive remote monitoring and management of the entire IT environment, backed by 24/7/365 support. This ensures incidents are identified and resolved quickly, while the platform remains flexible enough to evolve in line with FBD’s growth strategy.
With HCS as the sole provider of IT managed services to the group, we are spending significantly less time dealing with IT incidents.
