With challenges like remote working, digitalisation of processes, some systems in the clouds and others on prem Neil discusses how the need for fast and secure networks has increased.
“Small and medium enterprises, in particular, are pursuing a strategy that sees their core systems augmented with software-as-a-service (SaaS) in hybrid cloud and on-premise set-ups. They see it as being part and parcel of IT infrastructure, certainly in the SME sector where we see a lot of on-premises and hybrid. The majority of SME businesses havenot gone into the cloud,” Phelan said. “That just goes to show that ‘tin’ still has its uses.”
